It was a cold start today -2c and frosty. I started off by spomding out leftover dead baits followed by two fresh mackerel.
It was a lovely day, the sun was out, no wind and the water was very clear – not the best conditions as I prefer some colour in the water. Time passes by and then two bleeps on the right-hand rod. Is it a run? The line tightened, then nothing, was it a run? Did the pike drop the bait? An hour passes, a bleep on the left hand rod again, line tightens, we wait, nothing!
Oh, the joys of pike fishing!
Now the wind has picked up from the north west, last chance to catch, as I have to leave the lake by 3.30pm
Until Next Time
