After doing the night and only hearing fish and not a pick up. There are only 2 days left before the lake closes for a few months, so I fancied a going on the easier lake for my last few trips here.
One rod was flicked out over the other side on a single pop up. The other rod along the margins with catalyst paste only on the hair, over a bed of Catalyst 4mm pellets soaked on red pellet oil.
In next to no time (perhaps not even 10 minutes) I had my first take, unfortunately it dropped off at the net – not had that happen for sometime.
I didn’t have to wait long before the other rod was off and I was into a near 20lb Common.
Despite all the lovely sunshine, that was the only action today. It was very nice to get a bend in the rod though.
Until next time
