Trip No 65 Carp Fishing (2016)

With the eldest daughter off sick for the last two days, I could only get out for a couple of hours this evening.  I worked my socks off and still managed to blank, some days you just can’t catch them.

With plenty of open water, there were plenty of options and a few fish to cast too.

However, the view and the sunset was worth the blank and sometimes this is really what fishing is about.

Until next time

Trip 64 Carp Fishing (2016)

With half term over, which included a fantastic camping trip in Wales, I thought I had better go fishing!

image

I am out on the inland sea in search of a monster Carp.  I am safety tucked away on my bay swim and the baits are on the same spots.  There is still no real weed growth this year.  With rain forecast at pack up time tomorrow morning, I am under the brolly tonight.

With another night notched up, it was time to head home.

Until next time Richard

Trip No 63 Carp Fishing (2016)

This trip I have taken the youngest daughter, as she has been pestering me for sometime to go fishing again.

image

She has selected our normal spot, this gives us plenty of space for the carp rod’s and an area we can bait up for a spot of float fishing after some Roach.

image

She is very much at home on the fishing lake.

image

Both my rod’s have been cast to a nice silty area and 2 kilo of Spotted Fin Catalyst boilies over the top. We enjoyed an afternoon of float fishing and settled down for the night.  At around 2230 the action started and continued though the night until pack up time. I had 7 fish topped off by a 27lb & 29lb Commons and not a lot of sleep but the youngest slept through.

27lb 4oz common

29lb 2oz common

What an amazing start for the new bait.  I even had a double take as we where packing up and I am sure if we could of stayed longer I would of had more.

Until next time

Trip 62 Carp Fishing (2016)

After doing a few hours today, I am back on the inland sea tonight, in search of Monsters.

image

And hopefully with some effort this year, I will get my reward. This place holds fish that dreams are made of.

image

I arrived around 1900 hrs (after handing over the kid’s to the wife) and have decided to make this bay area mine for the summer.  The angler’s here do respect each other and will not trend on other people’s toes. We are not allowed on until 5 pm, however during the week I can’t get here until 7 ish.  Both rod’s are on nice clear spots baited with ground bait and chopped boilies with a pop up on one and a Wafter on the other.

With no joy again on the fish front it was time to head home.  This quest to catch a fish from this lake will take some time, but I am going to stick with it.

Until next time

Richard

Trip No 61 Carp Fishing (2016)

A new beginning started today – with a new bait company and a new bait.

image

I am on the Airfield lake today and the conditions are looking ok, the odd fish are on the top.  I am surprised about, as there is a nice blow on the lake now and it’s a fairly overcast day.  I spotted a few fish dotted about this area and all was going quite well until the swan interfered and prompted a recast on both rod’s.  Not quite what I was planning and not very helpful.

image

My friendly ball of fluff, despite a few planned recasts and plenty of observation going on, I could just not tempt these fish to pick up a bait today.

Until next time
Richard
