Trip 27 – Carp Fishing 2017

It’s nice to know that for the next 7 months or so, I shall be able to set up in day light.

I have just done my last trip through the forest, as the sun was setting.

And the last of these sorts of photos (for a bit).

I managed to get about 30 minutes to look in a few swims, before I settled on this one.  I was able to lead about a bit, find the perfect spot and get some bait out.  This was all done in day light – which was nice.  Roll on Sunday and I will have an extra hour as well.

I was up at first light this morning, looking for any signs of carp.  Unfortunately, there were none until about 10 minutes before I needed to go home.  But the information gathered has been stored away, for one of my day trips.

It’s a lovely morning to be out fishing.

Until next time

Richard

Trip 26 – Carp Fishing – 2017

It feels like Spring has gone and Winter has returned.  There’s a cold NNE wind blowing and you can certainly feel the chill in the wind.

With that in mind, I have even picked the bank on the back of the wind and dropped both rod’s in the margins – with a few handfuls of  Catalyst pellets and corn.  I had a FW sweetcorn 12mm pop up on one rod and a catalyst wafter on the other with some quick break down paste, molded round it.  Hopefully, the rain will stop and the sun may poke it’s head out of the clouds and warm this bank.  This should induce some feeding.

With only an hour to go, the righthand rod was off.  Unfortunately, only a very small Carp but a blank saver and with the weather as it was, I was very happy.

Until next time

Richard

Trip 25 Carp Fishing 2017

Wow, what a loverly Spring day?  That’s if you can get out the wind!  There is still a chill in the air but I am sure this sunshine will certainly help.

With that in mind, I have found a nice area just off the wind, with a good 4ft in the margins.  This isn’t a bad of this part of the lake and I have flicked a couple of baits out quite close in with some Catalyst groundbait over the top.  I sat back a bit from the bank – to keep the noise down and watch the lake for any carpy signs.

As the wind swung round the wind picked up and I gave it until 1pm.  I then headed off for a walk around the rest of the complex, until 2pm then headed home to collect the kid’s.

Until next time

Trip 24 Carp Fishing 2017

I am back on the Airfield Lake again for 24hrs.  I have headed over to the area that I believe was where the odd Carp have been showing.  There is a stong West wind blowing still, I am hoping they may still be in the area.

I have baited a couple of nice hard areas with a few spots of chopped Catalyst boilies and pellets.  I have also flicked a pop up over one and a wafter with some paste wrapped around it for a bit of extra attraction.

The night past without a bleep and the Canadian geese at full volume (joy).  You can certainly tell Spring is here.  I am going to hang around until mid afternoon, pack up and have a good walk round the complex.  With the lack of anglers over the past 5 months, the Carp always revert back to naturals and then have to ween them off again.  Which depending on the amount of people fishing, it can take a few weeks and I am certain that a far few of these Carp have never touched a boilie.

Until next time

Richard

Trip 23 – Carp Fishing – 2017

Am on the Airfield lake open again as I just couldn’t wait to get back on there.  After doing a hard days gardening and doing my househusband bit, I was down the lake before last light.

I managed to get one rod out before the light faded and then I leaded around for the other spot in the dark.  I clipped up and flicked that one out.  I then put a little bit of  Catalyst boilies over the top of each rod.

With an uneventful night, apart from the Canadian geese going mad all night – you can certainly tell Spring is in the air.  There where a few fish crashing, this is good news.

Until next time

Richard
