Here’s one more tip to give a better understanding of your sonar readings!
When interpreting sonar scans, remember to always read from left to right.
When an object rises , the beginning of its sonar reflection or arch (1) will be shown deeper than its end (2). A sinking object sinking will be displayed as reverse of a rising object – the beginning of the arch (3) will be higher in the water column than its end (4).
If you’re targeting this specific object, note that the depth where the arch ends is the depth where the object was last picked up by the sonar.
