Trip 33 Carp Fishing (2013)

Out for another night.

I have been doing two nights a week, on the lake at the moment. I feel that some time soon a big fish will come out. May need the night temperature to drop a bit more, as summer is still here. This could be a good winter for carp fishing. I have seen a lot more fish moving this time, and we have had some big wind and rain moving through.

At around 4.30 am, my left hand rod was off, and the alarm was screaming away. After what felt like half an hour, and a few problems with the fish ploughing through the pads, a nice 20+ common was in the net.

I was woken up by my work alarm at 7 am, which give me 30 minutes to watch the lake at first light. There are some days when I should call my boss and ask for the rest of the day off. This was one of them. Unfortunately, it was not possible, as we have too many people off on holiday. There was fish topping all over the place, I hope when I come back in two-days time, they are still up for it.

Back out again, I have changed over to Stringers this week. I thought I would try something different.

Same swim as normal, for some reason I feel more confident here.

time will tell.

Unfortunately, I only had a few bleeps in the night and that was that. Time for another day in the office.

Trip 32 Carp Fishing (2013)

I can’t believe how quick the nights are drawing in. I left work at 5.30 this week, I only just managed to get all set up before dark. It’s very misty and wet tonight, which did not help.

Mind you, the conditions are perfect tonight.

Trip 31 Carp Fishing (2013)

On the lake for the first Monday in a long time. Unfortunately, it’s very busy and my best option was the swim I fished last week. Not a bad swim at all.

I cast my baits as before, however this week I have changed one of my rod’s over to, Gulp Baits Coco & Banana boilies.

Trip 30 Carp Fishing (2013)

On the lake again, I am in a swim that I have fished before many times.

The only thing I have changed, is to put a bait in a margin spot that I have been baiting first some days.

The swim is closed to the right of me, which has made the spot even better this year (as it is only fish-able from this swim). I have got a bait over the far side, as normal.

I prefer to do that rather than put two baits on this side. I some times swap which rod is in the margin, for some reason the left hand rod produces more fish.
