Trip No 50 Carp Fishing (2016)

With the weather looking quite good first think this morning, I headed for a nice quiet snaggy corner and sheltered from the wind.

image

And just perfect for a spot of margin fishing.

image

I flicked a small Godman Angling mesh bag out with a Poloni washed out pop up, into the corner.

image

And did the same for the righthand rod under an overhanging tree.

image

And sat back on my bucket.

image

The wind was picking up into this corner and the sun was going in.  It was not quite feeling right. So I headed off for a walk around and found that at the back of the wind, was so much better and with a few handfuls of chopped up Bait-Tech Poloni Boilies scattered around in a couple of swims, I headed home.

Until next time
Richard

Trip 49 Carp Fishing (2016)

With a very cold wind pushing from the N/W and a couple of frosty mornings, I didn’t fancy my normal Sunday night out.  I felt fishing Monday day would be better, as there was going to be sunshine for most of the morning and this would warm up the margins.

image

And I found myself in this lovely reeded swim, the spot I really fancied was occupied and the other area had no real signs of Carp.

I am only fishing small Godman Angling mesh bag filled with Bait-Tech spod & Pva micro pellets soaked in Poloni oil  (see spring tip). I don’t wish to over feed the swim and also I need to  be a bit mindful of the Swan.  I have scattered a few broken poloni boilies over the top.  I have also yet to fish this swim and this trip out will give me the opportunity to do a bit of leading around before I go home.

image

Once the sun had gone, the wind started to pick up, I deicide that a walk around the lakes looking for Carp wound be more beneficial to me than sitting blanking.

Until next time
Richard

Trip No 48 Carp Fishing (2016)

After doing the night and seeing fish in the margins, I scattered some broken Bait-Tech Poloni boilies in the margins and headed home.

image

On my return, the fish were still clearly there and I flicked one rod out with a small bag,.sat back and waited.  There were tail patterns, a nice fish rolled and would you believe it? The Swan was out and heading across the lake and sure enough.

Swan Trouble

Head down and feeding, bang on the spot.  Time to move.

image

I headed back to the area where I was in at the beginning of the week and sure enough, the water was coloured up. With two Godman Angling mesh bag flicked out.  I sat and enjoyed the sunshine.  Within the hour, I was in to a very unhappy Carp and after a small fight it was safely in the net.

And nice 17-10 common, I was quite happy with that.

I flicked the rods out again, it was only 1145, I had a fish and been on 2 swims already.

Love this lake.

That was the only fish of the trip, but well needed.

Until next time

Trip No 47 Carp Fishing (2016)

What a perfect evening to be setting up fishing.

image

With the sun going down, I had just got both rod’s on to perfect silty spots in 5 ft of water.  With a couple of Spombs over the top, filled with a mix of my Groundbait and poloni boilies soaked in Bait-tech new bloodworm liquid.

image

I had to pause and take some more photos of the amazing sunset tonight.

image

image

What a lovely way to spend your time.

Both rod’s were fished with washed out Poloni pop ups on, one Yellow and the other white

image

And with any luck, we will have a Carp or two in the net tonight.

With a bit of cloud cover in the night and some light rain, I was feeling confident and at around 0130 the right had rod was off.

Unfortunately, the fish had found one of the many underwater obstructions and the battle was won by the fish and a hook pull.

Time for home.

Until next time

Trip No 46 Carp Fishing (2016)

I am here for a few hours today, after the carp & to do a bit of leading around.  The aim is to try and find a couple of nice hidden away spots for the Spring.

image

Both rod’s are on on the fallen tree line, as this is a patrol route for the Carp and with the wind finally picking up in my direction, I am feeling more confident.

image

I am sitting back from the rod’s as I don’t wish to spook any fish.

Unfortunately, the swan who had a nest in the reed’s behind me and the favourite feeding spot was in front of me and after the third attempt he managed to pick up my line . I decided that packing up early and looking around the lakes would be more productive.

image

And sure enough I found some!

Until next time
