Trip 12 –  Carp Fishing – 2017

With the weather conditions as they are at the moment and armed with the knowledge of the location of some Carp, I headed back down the lake.  Unfortunately for me and lucky for him, there was an angler in the spot I was going for.

So, I headed on around the lake to another likely area/ spot.  I needed to have another play with my new Baiting pole , it was just perfect.  Within the hour, I had banked my first fish from the lake, don’t get excited it was only a Tench and sorry to say that, but  I have had way too many of them in the past, probably 1000’s.

That’s was the only action for me today and when I got home, I found a sign that spring may be getting closer.

Let’s hope so.

Until next time

Richard

Trip 11 – Carp Fishing – 2017

With less rain and a chance of sunshine, I put the house work on hold until tomorrow – when the forecast is for a big down poor, and out I went.

I fished an area that I had not fished for some time, as I was having another play with the Baiting pole again.  This was the area I had spotted the fish in yesterday and definitely worth a few hours.

No joy again to day, however certainly a step closer, I spotted some more Carp and will head over to that area on my next trip out.

Until next time

Richard

Trip 10 – Carp Fishing – 2017

With the weather a lot milder and the need to play with my baiting pole, it was down the Carp lake I go – despite the rainy weather, I was feeling very keen indeed.

Both rod’s are on single pop ups.  They also have a tiny bag filled with Spotted Fin stix mix.

And a Robin to help with some filming!  I was quite happy, even spotted a fish.  This will most certainly be the area I am off to tomorrow.

Unfortunately, no joy on the fish front today.  However, the baiting pole was a success and with a little more practice, it’s going to become a very useful tool.

Until next time

Trip 9 – pike Fishing – 2017

With a spot of man flu and the prospects of a couple of days gardening, I didn’t quite feel like walking to far today.  So, armed with my chair, I headed off to a nice big bend in the river, which has produced some action over the past week.

Also armed with two rods – I was all set.  It was a very misty start but there were signs the sun may arrive, to put some warmth in my bones.

I was using mackerel and herring today, both loaded with Spotted Fin Salmon Oil, which I had prepared yesterday.

Even with the sun pushing through, I had not a sniff of a Pike today.

Until next time

Trip 8 – Pike Fishing – 2017

For today’s trip, I am meeting up with a friend to spend a few hours on the Hampshire Avon.

We tried a few spots around the area we met up.  We then headed off around to another area.  By the time we had got to the last area, I had banked one and he had lost a mid double.

The last area was a fantastic slow bend, with plenty of options and before long I was in again.

With another pike in the net, I was feeling quite happy, just needed to find the larger fish.

The fish was safely returned to its home.

Both fish had fell to mackerel injected with Spotted Fin Salmon Oil.

For a nice bit of additional attraction, which helped to attract these fish.

Small, but still another pike to add to the list.  Unfortunately, my friend was not having any luck today, as he had lost another nice fish.  He was doing a cracking job locating them, however these head shaking monsters were throwing the hooks.  Even though they where size 4s and very sharp, some days you can’t win, despite your best efforts.  A good day was had by all and we will be back for more, cheers Ian for a fab days Pike fishing with some photographs and videoing.

Until next time

Richard
