Deeper Pro Plus – Hints & Tips

I have been using the Deeper Pro Plus for some time and I have put together a few tips which may help you get more from your Deeper.

1. When you cast out and are mapping the lake, the Deeper will take a few seconds for the GPS to lock on each time – check the GPS icon has changed from orange to green.

2. If you reel in too fast, you can create a false reading for the depth on the Deeper.

As you can see from the middle part of the screen shot that the Deeper been pulled down into the water.

3. If the Deeper doesn’t auto connect, you can manual do this via Setting –

manage Deepers –

Refresh & then Connect, in most instances this will have already happen.

Been Home & Back Again

Trip 14 Pike Fishing – 2018

With the weather as it is and only 20 days before the river season ends, I am still on that push for a big pike this year. It’s been sometime since I had had one, mostly due to not fishing for them.

I came back to the same swim where Ian and I ended up in on my last trip. I flicked the Deeper out, just to check there were fish about still. This was certainly the case, I quite like this swim, there are plenty of features and it’s not a long walk. This is perfect for my short trips in the week.

They are definitely some good signals of fish in this pool.

We shall just have to see if any are nice big pike.

They have eluded me again.

Few Hours On The Bank Today

Trip 13 Pike Fishing – 2018

On the Hampshire Avon Today, with my friend Ian after the pike. We are going to be roving around but will be using the Deeper Pro Plus to locate bait fish in any likely spots.

The first area yielded no pike, so we headed of down stream to another area we thought would be good.

We did find a very favourable spot which contained a lots of fish and a couple of very big readings. The yellow areas are fish as I have turned off the fish icon to be able to learn and understand the sonar.

We ended up staying there as every time I ran the Deeper over the area, the fish were still there! Around 1300, Ian’s rod was off and into a very nice pike but as luck would have it, the pike ejected the hooks. To say he was not happy a happy camper was an understatement – that’s just the way it rolls sometimes. We did prove that there was a pike in the swim and I am sure if it was not for the Deeper we would have moved on, which would have been silly as clearly there was bait fish and pike in that area.

Unfortunately no videoing today as the wind was too strong and in our faces.
