Trip 30 Carp Fishing (2013)

On the lake again,  I am in a swim that I have fished before many times.

image

The only thing I have changed, is to put a bait in a margin spot that I have been baiting first some days.

image

The swim is closed to the right of me, which has made the spot even better this year (as it is only fish-able from this swim). I have got a bait over the far side, as normal.

image

I prefer to do that rather than put two baits on this side. I some times swap which rod is in the margin, for some reason the left hand rod produces more fish.

Trip 29 Carp Fishing (2013)

Here I am, again out after Mr Carp.  This time the weather is pukka. As I managed to leave work early, I had plenty of time to look around the lake before the rain sets in for the night.

image

I settled for a nice open swim with plenty of options and a good view of the lake.

Rod (1)
Was cast across the lake in front of another swim, between two set’s of Lilly’s.  Let’s hope no one sets up over there, otherwise I would have to move it.

image

Rod (2)
I cast this to the left of me, on the end of a set of pads at the bottom of the drop off near some reeds .

image

I have changed my set up the week, as I have not had much luck. I am now using Solor Tackle contour, which has replaced my normal leadcore, with Korda Tackle safe zone clip.

image

I have also changed to Korda hooks.  I was hoping to use Solor hooks,  however, the tackle shop was out of stock.  I picked the Korda wide gap ones, as I use them a lot on the River Avon, because the interned point keeps the hook sharp longer.

image

I also picked up a spool of Korda Tackle N-trap hook link, as this is very soft.  I had originally been using Kyston Matis with an inch of the coating stripped back.

image

All set up with a mesh pva bag, full of goodies for Mr Carp.

At around 0400, the right had rod bust into life.  Unfortunately, for me it was an Eel (not a fan).  After a bit of mucking around, I finally got it of the hook.  This meant my set up was in a mess, so I made up a new one and recast the rod back out and got my head down.

0620 my alarm on my phone was off and it was time to get to work.

Till next time

Trip 28 Carp Fishing (2013)

I am on the lake again.  This time, I have moved up towards the reeds, as there seems to be more carp moving.

image

I am still sticking to the same tactics.  However, as we are moving towards Winter, I have started to spread some bait around the lake when I leave.  Not to much at this stage but will up the amount as we get closer to the Winter months.

image

I can’t believe how quick the night are drawing in, it’s getting dark by 8pm.

With another blank session over, it’s time for work again

Trip 27 Carp Fishing

I am back out after a few week’s holiday with the family.

image

After a quick look around the lake and with 2 other anglers fishing by the reeds.  It only left me the a couple of options, as the Lilly’s had grown well this year and blocked some of the swims off, which can be very handy.  I pick an open swim with good access to the far margin as there was a few fish moving through.

image

All set up

I tend not to use a brolly when I know it’s not going to ran, as I like to fall asleep looking at the stars.

After a peaceful night sleep, it was time for another days work.

Trip No 26 Carp Fishing (2013)

Back out for a quick night on the lake.  I have gone for the same swim as before, due to 2 people fishing up the top end of the lake and 1 other down the dam end.

image

I am casting both rods across to the back of the pads, as I have seen some fish moving over that side.

image

Also the weather is looking good, a nice southerly push up the lake, and a bit of rain in the air.

Oh well another blank.

Off to work
