Why I Use My Deeper Always

I get asked a lot about why I still use my Deeper once I have mapped the lake.

Firstly, I like to check whether the weed growth has changed, if there has been a bloom, the fish may have decimated it or cleared another area.  You just can never tell and there is certainly no way that a marker with telling you this information.

Secondly, you need to know if the hard areas have silted over or if the carp have been digging away in the silt and make new feeding areas.

As the lake is a living thing, it is changing all the time and evolving over the months and you need to keep on top of as much information as possible.

You find that a lot of anglers just continue to fish the same spots year in year out.  To me, is just crazy, the fish clearly create new areas all the time and these just get overlooked.  Even if I have fished a swim many times, I will always get my Deeper out the bag and check over the swim – looking for these very spots.  It just makes sense and will give you an edge over others.
