Unfortunately, after getting a call from the wife about her car, I had to pack up and come home, as I needed to collect her from work and take the kids to there clubs and drop the wife of at work tomorrow morning.
The last time I fished this swim, I dropped my brand new phone and broke the screen, hopefully not a theme starting.
It was looking so spectacular, and I was pretty confident.
We’re kicking off our Black Friday season early and sprinkling some offers in throughout November. This weekend we’re offering a batch of feed boilies at a crazy price of just £5 per kilo!
Every so often we have stock of boilies that don’t quite reach our usual high standards. Maybe they weren’t rolled quite right or have been long forgotten at the back of a warehouse.
They are still rolled with the same high quality ingredients and proven attractors however, making them a great option for pre-baiting or use as loose feed. All sold as 20mm in 5kg bags. https://spottedfin.com/product/shelf-life-feed-boilie-5kg/
Title: Essential Carp Fishing Tackle: Gear You Need to Get Started
Introduction: Carp fishing is an exciting and challenging angling pursuit, known for its diverse equipment and tactics. To get started and increase your chances of a successful catch, it’s essential to have the right carp fishing tackle. In this blog post, we’ll explore the essential gear you need to enjoy a day by the water and hopefully reel in some impressive carp.
1. **Carp Rods and Reels:** – Carp rods are designed for casting long distances and handling the strength of carp. Look for a rod with a test curve suitable for the size of carp you expect to encounter. – Match your rod with a quality carp reel, capable of holding sufficient line and providing smooth drag.
2. **Fishing Line:** – Opt for a reliable and strong monofilament or fluorocarbon fishing line. Carp often put up a fight, so your line should have good abrasion resistance.
3. **Bite Alarms:** – Bite alarms are electronic devices that produce sound or visual signals when a fish bites your bait. They are crucial for detecting carp strikes, especially during night fishing.
4. **Carp Rigs:** – Carp rigs include hooks, swivels, and other components. Popular carp rigs include the hair rig and the method feeder rig, each tailored to specific baiting techniques.
5. **Baits and Baiting Tools:** – Carp have diverse diets, so having a variety of baits is essential. Common carp baits include boilies, maize, pellets, and particle baits. – Baiting tools like a baiting needle and boilie stops help you present your bait effectively.
6. **Landing Net and Unhooking Mat:** – A landing net is used to safely land the carp once you’ve successfully hooked it. Ensure it has a large enough diameter to handle sizeable carp. – An unhooking mat provides a padded surface to protect the fish during the unhooking process.
7. **Tackle Box and Accessories:** – Keep your tackle organized in a sturdy tackle box. It should include hooks, weights, swivels, scissors, pliers, and other accessories.
8. **Comfort Gear:** – Invest in comfortable clothing, including waterproofs and insulated gear for all-weather carp fishing. – A comfortable chair or bedchair is essential for long fishing sessions.
9. **Carp Care Equipment:** – Carp care should be a top priority. Have antiseptic, antifungal treatments, and a carp care kit on hand to treat any hook wounds or injuries.
Conclusion: Equipping yourself with the right carp fishing tackle is key to enjoying a successful and fulfilling fishing experience. As you gain more experience, you can refine your gear selection to match your specific preferences and the type of carp fishing you enjoy most. Remember, carp fishing is not just about the catch but also about appreciating the tranquility of the water and the thrill of the chase. So, gear up, head to your favorite fishing spot, and immerse yourself in the world of carp fishing. Good luck!
After a fellow syndicate member mentioned he had one of these, I took a look and was straight on eBay to order one for myself. I’ve been using it now for the past 5 months, and I’ve found it to be an absolute pukka bit of kit.
My main reason is where I fish it’s very dark, I’ve found that I’m also a bit slower and unstable on my feet, the older I get and this helps me see my rod. I also can swivel it around so I’m able to see the path down to the water. I also sleep with a small head torch around my neck to help as well.
