I am out for my normal Tuesday night session but I didn’t do a day session as I needed to get some work done. It’s the school holiday’s next week and I am taking the kids camping in Wales for a few day – so no fishing for me. It’s always good to have a break and have family time.
After a bit of a look around and not really fancying the area I was in the last few time, mainly because the fish were coming in day light hour’s for me and this wouldn’t help tonight. So I headed off to have a look at the other lakes and sure enough, I found a likely area which took my fancy. It had also been a long time since I had fished this swim, which was well overdue a cast about. After I found a couple of spots, I put a bag in one with a few boilies in the area and the other rod was going to be fished as a single, a bit further out beyond the the spot.
I like to fill my bags with a mix of Pellet, a few boilies and a good load of liquid – for added attraction especially when fishing silt.
As darkness fell, I was starting to get liners and my hopes where building, this carried on through most of the night. This became very frustrating as I could also hear the fish crashing out, I was in in the wrong spot or could the fish just be preoccupied with naturals? Well, finally at around 4 am, one of my rods was away and into another hard fighting airfield lake common – yes there are mirrors in here. They are extraordinary hard to catch, the fight you get from these fish is truly amazing and just give you that fishing buzz.

I was very happy after all the activity, with no action for so long.
Until next time
