Rainy sessions often get written off… but carp absolutely love them 🌧️🐟
When the rain starts falling, it oxygenates the water, drops the pressure, and stirs everything up on the lakebed. That means carp feel more confident, feed more freely, and move into areas they might usually avoid. Margins come alive, bait gets noticed quicker, and those quiet-looking swims can suddenly switch on.
Light to steady rain is especially good – it masks bankside noise, breaks up surface light, and makes carp feel safer. Add a decent particle mix putting out natural attraction, and you’re stacking the odds in your favour.
So next time the forecast looks grim, don’t cancel the session. Get the kettle on, get the rods out, and trust the conditions. Some of the best carp are caught with rain dripping off the brim of your cap 😉
