This is a classic spice-based boosting combination — sharp, volatile and designed to cut through the water column quickly.

You’ve got three layers working together:

Pink Pepper Bait Soak
Black Pepper Essential Oil
Pink Pepper Alternative Hookbait Pop-Ups

Individually they’re strong. Combined, they create a highly reactive, signal-heavy hook bait that leaks attraction immediately on contact with water.

The Boosting Mechanics

1. Pink Pepper Bait Soak – The Carrier

The soak acts as the delivery system. It penetrates the outer skin of the pop-up and loads it with soluble attractors. Because it’s liquid-based, it disperses quickly, creating an instant flavour halo around the bait.
Pink pepper has a naturally warm, spicy profile that stimulates feeding without being overly sweet or fishy. It’s different enough to stand out, but not so aggressive that it spooks pressured carp.

2. Black Pepper Essential Oil – The Trigger

This is the high-impact element. Essential oils are extremely concentrated and highly volatile. Even a drop is enough.

Black pepper oil excels in cooler water because it disperses efficiently and carries a sharp, recognisable signal. It acts almost like a sensory irritant — not in a negative way — but in a way that encourages investigation and competitive feeding.
Used correctly (one drop per pot, not more), it sharpens the whole profile without overpowering the base bait.

3. Pink Pepper Pop-Ups – The Platform

The pop-up itself is already an attractive, buoyant hook bait with its own flavour profile. By matching the soak to the bait, you’re reinforcing the same signal rather than confusing it.
This is important: boosting works best when you amplify the original identity of the bait, not mask it with something completely different.

What Happens Underwater

Once introduced:

The soak starts to leak almost immediately.
Fine oil particles rise and disperse through the layers.
The essential oil creates a wider scent trail.
The pop-up continues to leak attraction for hours.
You get an initial spike of attraction followed by a sustained release. That’s exactly what you want on short sessions or when dropping onto showing fish.

It’s not a subtle food bait approach like liver or GLM. This is about stimulation, curiosity and reaction bites.

Each range contains a unique blend of powdered extracts, liquids, essential oils and an in-house blend of acids, this leads to a slow release of attractors over a long period of time.

Each range has been designed with the optimum level of attractors and don’t need any additional liquids or glugs to be added.

These wafters in testing kept their buoyancy and texture for well over a week, one look at the results on these throughout the winter months during field testing, it’s clear to see the name fits these perfectly.

A proper hook bait booster isn’t about drowning a bait in flavour – it’s about layering attraction with purpose. This little combination does exactly that.

You’ve got a strong base of Nutrabaits hook baits – Trigga Ice Hard Hookers and the Trigga Pineapple & N-Butyric Corkie Wafters – both proven, food-based baits with inherent nutritional pull. The booster is there to amplify what’s already working, not mask it.

Green Lipped Mussel brings that unmistakable marine amino profile. It’s soluble, naturally rich, and leaks out steadily, creating a subtle food signal that carp recognise instantly. It’s not just smell – it’s feeding trigger chemistry.

Liver Powder adds depth and savoury density. It thickens the coating, binds to liquids, and creates a cloud of fine particles once submerged. In cooler water especially, liver extracts give off that meaty, protein-rich signal carp home in on.

Garlic Essential Oil is the edge. Used sparingly, it cuts through everything. Garlic carries exceptionally well in water and acts as both an attractor and appetite stimulant. A drop or two is enough – overdo it and you blunt the balance.

How I’d Use It
Lightly dampen the hook baits – either with lake water or a minimal liquid food.
Add a dusting of Green Lipped Mussel and Liver Powder.

Add one or two drops of garlic oil to the mix and shake thoroughly.
Leave them to air-dry so the coating adheres properly.

You end up with a crusted, highly attractive outer layer that breaks down gradually. On a wafter, that fine powder coating also softens the visual edge, making it look more natural on the lakebed. On a hard hooker, it gives you prolonged leakage without compromising durability.

This is particularly effective in:

Short sessions where you need instant pull
Margin work where fish are cautious but curious
Colder water when solubility and natural extracts outperform heavy synthetic flavours
It’s a refined approach rather than a blatant one. Food signals first, sharp trigger second. Exactly what you want when targeting pressured carp that have seen it all before.
