Spotted Fin – Catch Report – March 2019
Mark Cooper landed this gorgeous 38lb Common from the Essex Manor this morning. A little 12mm Pineapple and N-Butyric over a handful of boosted Smokey Jack boilies around it did the damage!
Gaz Johnson recently banked his target fish for the winter in the shape of this stunning 28lb common!
He used the new 12mm Catalyst Natural Wafters in conjunction with a PVA bag of Catalyst crumb to tempt the bite from his North West syndicate water.
Awesome result Gaz!
Whilst fishing on the famous ‘Hole in the bush’ swim at Wellington County Park, Charlie Hayes managed to land this awesome looking linear. Weighing in at 46lb 12oz, Charlie fished a Ronnie rig incorporating a size 4 SF Curve with a hand-rolled washed out pink Catalyst Pop-up over a kilo of mixed sized Catalyst freebies at 130 yards.
Our media man Richard Chapman sneaked a quick night on the bank in between shooting features. After spotting a few shows, simple bottom bait rigs with a scattering of Smokey Jack boilies was all that was needed to tempt three bites during the night. Topped off by this long lean common!
Lee Grant came to see us at the Northern Angling Show last weekend, picking up some of the awesome Pink Pepper Squid Wafters and Catalyst Method Ready Pellets… He wasted no time in putting them to excellent use with this cracking 25lb PB Common!
A quick night on the canal in some wet and wild conditions paid off for Wayne Bridges this weekend!
This lovely old warrior weighed in at 17lb+ and fell for a Smokey Jack Wafter over a scattering of matching boilies and pellets.
Matt French decided to have a session on his local 50 acre reservoir, after a good look and no signs of fish he opted to drop into a swim which he’d previously had success from.
Fishing at 120 yards, he put out 3kg of the awesome Catalyst in mixed sizes soaked in Pink Pepper Squid, a blowback rig with a Catalyst/PPS snowman was all that was needed to tempt a bite from one of the old originals aptly named the ‘Black Eye Common’ and tipping the scales at 31lb 7oz!
Despite being barely able to walk following an ankle operation, Scott Kelly still managed to get out on the bank to have a play with the new Sticky Method Pellets. The old adage of effort = reward, rang true as he helped himself to a brace of 20lbers!
