My Time On The Big Lake

I have managed to get a place on a fantastic new water, which has only been only opened to fish for a couple of years.  Unfortunately, it is only open for another six months before completely new management take over.  This is great news for the lake as they have done some fantastic work to impove the fisheries they already have.  Their long term plan will be a group of stunning lakes, with only 100 members.  What more could you ask for? A Ticket Please?  This I am hoping to get a place for the following season.

The lake is broken up into 3 smaller lake’s, they are linked by channels.  After spending some time watching these channels, I have noticed the carp use them a considerable amount.  There are bars, bays and shallow/deep areas, they also have plenty of islands which you can having fishing access to some of.  There is a fantastic amount of overhanging tree lines to fish to. Considering the size of it and the fact that one bank is closed,  there are only 41 swims (some still to be made).  The wildlife is amazing with deer, bagers and foxes everywhere.  It’s nice to be able to sit looking for carp topping and have deer and foxes wondering around the lake on the far bank and also behind you.

Lake (1)

This lake is the biggest of the three, it  has 5 islands with 2 of them you can fish from.  There are also a couple of nice quiet bays which only have one swim in.  Which is nice.

Lake (2)

This lake is the smallest of them all, say 8 acres

Lake (3)

This lake is surrounded by overhanging trees with swims dotted around.  There are a couple of point swims.  However, no islands are on this one and the far bank is out of bounds.  This is quite is nice as I hate looking at other people.  There is a swim ether end which gives you some access to that bank.  There is plenty of room for the carp to hide away, it’s  a good 16 acres, with only 10 swims and mostly you would not be able to see any other angler’s.

This place is amazing.  There are small and big bays to choose from, huge open area’s of water (with bars everywhere), to tiny overgrown bay’s to stork in.  I have been the only one on one of the lakes for two days.  It’s like having you own water.  I think it will take me a couple of years to fish all the swims.

And the good news is…. I have got a place in the new syndicate, which is amazing news.

100 members on 5 big lakes, plus the river part also has 100 members and  around 8 miles of river.

Not wishing to wish my life away, I can’t wait until its open.  I will have also pasted the magic age of 50 by them as well.

Look out of my New Blogs next year on this unnameable sycdaicte!

Till then, be happy

Richard
